New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was fined $10000 for his helmet throw in the 38-14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
During the third quarter Jacobs removed his helmet and threw it in extreme frustration, although he aimed it downwards to hit the ground but it mysteriously ended up in the Indianapolis crowd.
Nobody was injured in the tantrum, but the fan did not want to give it back, Jacobs ended up getting the helmet back but was fined a few days later by the NFL.
Jacobs issued an apology and said“I want to apologize one more time for accidentally tossing my helmet in the stands, It was something that happened because I was frustrated with the game, and I had no business tossing my helmet in the first place.”
Jacobs name has now circulated in trade talks despite signing a four year $25 million contract in February 2009. Jacobs now tells media he is in the "right frame of mind."
